{{/presale}}The American Eagle Gold Coins from the United States Mint debuted in 1986. With weights of 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold available each year, the US Mint featured the same designs on the obverse and reverse each year from 1986 to early 2021. In mid-2021, a new reverse depiction of the bald eagle debuted on the coins and is now the only option available as of 2022. Provident Metals now has 2022 American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins available to purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase one of these 2022 American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins online from Provident Metals, the coins you receive come with individual or bulk packaging. Multiples of 50 coins arrive in tubes from the mint. However, individual coins will ship in protective plastic flips. All of the coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
Obverse
Liberty is found in the obverse design field of 2022 American Eagle Gold Coins. This design first appeared on the $20 Double Eagle Gold Coin in 1907 and was created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The design shows the full-length figure of Liberty walking toward you in the design element as she holds up a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other hand. The U.S. Capitol Building is visible in the background field with sun rays framing her figure. There is a ring of stars around the design element. Inscriptions on this face read LIBERTY and 2022.
Reverse
An American bald eagle head is found in the reverse design of the 2022 American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coin. This new design comes from Jennie Norris, a member of the US Mint Artistic Infusion Program. The image shows the head of the eagle in left-profile relief and captures its physical characteristics with realistic levels of detail. The inscriptions on this side of the coin include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1/10 OZ. FINE GOLD, and 5 DOLLARS.
History
Ms. Norris had her design of the bald eagle chosen from more than 30 possible designs as the new reverse face of the American Eagle Gold Series. This is her first major contribution to the United States Mint and its coinage.
