{{/presale}}The Year of the Tiger is here in 2022 and it’s time for those born under the sign of the worlds largest living cat to celebrate. The Merrick Mint has specially enhanced $2 Federal Reserve Notes available as the perfect gift for those celebrating being born under the sign of the tiger. Provident Metals now has 2022 $2 Year of the Tiger Polychrome Tigers Legal Tender Notes with 88 serial numbers available to you online.
Highlights:
When you purchase a 2022 $2 Year of the Tiger Polychrome Tigers Legal Tender Note in this Provident Metals listing, you will receive your notes individually housed in presentation folios. The notes come with serial numbers that include 88, an important feature as 8 is considered the luckiest number in Chinese culture. These notes are real Federal Reserve Notes picked from packs of clean, crisp, uncirculated notes to be enhanced by Merrick Mint.
Obverse
President Thomas Jefferson features on the obverse of the 2022 Year of the Tiger Polychrome Tigers Legal Tender Notes. His effigy is set at the center of the note with a red background field. The field includes several polychrome tigers prowling through the design element.
Reverse
The signing of the Declaration of Independence is replicated in the reverse design of 2022 $2 Polychrome Tigers Legal Tender Notes. This field of note features the Founding Fathers as they gather to debate and adopt the Declaration. It is based on the painting from 1818 that John Trumbull created for the nation.
History
The United States has issued a $2 note with little interruption since 1862. The United States Note series offered the longest-running $2 note as it was in production from 1862 to 1966. President Thomas Jefferson was not the original figure featured on the notes but did come to the United States Note in 1928 when it was resized to the modern small-format note. The United States Note was canceled in 1966, but Jeffersons effigy was revived in 1976 when the $2 denomination was added to the Federal Reserve Note Series.
