{{/presale}}The Proof American Eagle Gold Coins from the United States Mint are available in four weights each year, with certified versions of each coin representing some of the hardest to find. The Proof American Eagle Gold Coins are offered in the same four weights as the BU Series, but with far lower mintage figures. Provident Metals now has certified-perfect 2021-W Proof American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coins available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase a 2021-W Proof American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coin at Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that has earned a perfect certification from the NGC. Coins in PF70 condition showcase full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws of any kind present on the design elements or background fields of the coins. Additionally, these coins are Ultra-cameo specimens with Early Release labels.
The former of these designations refers to the beautiful proof visuals of the coin that include strong, frosted design elements overlaying deeply-mirrored, clear background fields. The latter of these designations points to the timing of the coins arrival for certification with the NGC. An Early Release coin is one that was received within 30 days of its original release.
Obverse
The obverse side of 2021-W Proof American Eagle Gold Coins comes with a depiction of Liberty. Created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the image shows Liberty walking toward the viewer with a torch in her right hand, an olive branch in her left, and the US Capitol Building in the background. Rays of sunshine emerge from behind her figure as a ring of 50 stars encircles the design. Inscriptions on this field of the coin include Liberty, 2021, and the W mint mark of the West Point Mint.
Reverse
On the reverse field of 2021-W Proof American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coins is an effigy of a family of bald eagles. Featuring for the last time in this series, the design from Miley Busiek includes a male eagle soaring over the nest as a female eagle shelters a hatchling within the nest. The inscriptions on this face of the coin read United States of America, In God We Trust, E Pluribus Unum, and 1/4 oz Fine Gold – 10 Dollars.
History
2021 marks the final release of the original reverse design in this series. Created in 1986 by Miley Busiek, the design will be replaced in mid-2021 with a depiction of a bald eagles head in left-profile relief.
