{{/presale}}The most notable date mark in the Proof American Eagle Series to come along in some time is the 2021 issue. The 2021 date mark indicates the 35th anniversary of the series, the first date mark with a refreshed design element on the coins, and the first-ever release of two different design combinations in one year. Provident Metals currently has 2021-W Proof American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins available to purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase a 2021-W Proof American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coin through this listing at Provident Metals, the item you receive comes in US Mint presentation packaging. The coins are individually housed in acrylic capsules and set with black presentation boxes. The box is housed in a themed shipper that features the new reverse bald eagle artwork on its cover. All coins come with a Certificate of Authenticity from the mint.
Obverse
Lady Liberty is found on the obverse of the 2021-W Proof American Eagle Gold Coin. This design was created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the vaunted Double Eagle Gold Coin. The image shows Liberty in front-facing relief with enhancements made to the details of the stars, Libertys torch, the U.S. Capitol Building, and the sun rays that help bring the design closer to Saint-Gaudens original 1907 design. Inscriptions include Liberty, 2021, and the W mint mark of the West Point Mint.
Reverse
An all-new bald eagle design is found on the reverse side of 2021 Proof American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins. Designed by Jennie Norris, this new effigy captures a close-up view of the head of the bald eagle with its steely gaze, hooked beak, and beautiful plumage shown in impressive detail. The inscriptions on this side read United States of America, In God We Trust, E Pluribus Unum, and 1/10 oz. Fine Gold – 5 Dollars.
History
The new design from Jennie Norris was chosen from a group of more than 30 designs to represent the bald eagle on these coins going into the future.
