{{/presale}}Introducing the remarkable 2021 edition of the American Gold Eagle Series, now available at Provident Metals! This year holds a special place in history as it marks a significant transition in the series’ design, coupled with an exciting dual release. In mid-2021, the US Mint revealed a fresh iteration of the Gold Eagle featuring a captivating new reverse design. And now, you have the opportunity to own the 2021-W Proof American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins in impeccable condition through Provident Metals.
Highlights:
In 2021, the United States Mint commemorated the 35th anniversary of the American Eagle bullion series with a significant redesign of the reverse images on both gold and silver coins. This marked a historic moment as it was the very first redesign in the series’ history. Moreover, it signaled a turning point as the US Mint introduced two distinct versions in the same year the original design minted until June 2021, and the new design launched in July 2021.
Obverse
On the obverse side of the 2021-W Proof American Eagle Gold Coins, you’ll find the iconic image of Lady Liberty, representing ideals of freedom and progress. She stands with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, 2021, and the W mint mark.
Reverse
Turning to the reverse of the 2021-W Proof Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coin, you’ll be captivated by the new bald eagle design crafted by Jennie Norris. The intricate portrayal captures the eagle’s head in remarkable detail, presented in a left-profile relief. Inscriptions here read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, 5 DOLLARS, and 1/10 OZ. FINE GOLD.
History
Both the American Eagle Silver and American Eagle Gold Coin received new reverse designs in 2021. In keeping with the program’s history, the two coins maintain distinctly different depictions of the bald eagle on the reverse.
