{{/presale}}The Transfiguration of Jesus is one of the more unique miracles recounted in the Bible. Recorded in various different books of the Bible, including in what some believe is an early allusion to the event in the Gospel of John, the Transfiguration of Jesus is the latest design from the works of Gustave Dore to be revived on the Niue Biblical Silver Series. Today, you have the opportunity to get 2021 Transfiguration of Jesus Biblical Series 2 oz Silver Coins online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The Transfiguration of Jesus is considered a miracle within the canonical gospels of the Bible. It is recorded as one of the miracles of Jesus Christ, but it is unique in that it is the only miracle that actually happens to Jesus rather than by his hand. The Transfiguration is commemorated within many Christian sects, including Eastern Orthodoxy, Catholicism, Lutheranism, and the Anglican church.
Obverse
On the obverse of 2021 Transfiguration of Jesus 2 oz Silver Coins is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed in 1985 by Raphael Maklouf, this right-profile relief shows the Queen with the George IV State Diadem Crown. This design was initially criticized as being outdated, but many see it as a timeless reflection of the majesty of Queen Elizabeth II. The inscriptions on this side read QUEEN ELIZABETH II, 2021, 2 OZ 999 FINE SILVER, and NIUE TWO DOLLARS.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2021 Transfiguration of Jesus Biblical Series 2 oz Silver Coin comes with an image of Jesus as he is engulfed by radiant rays of light. The field depicts Jesus ascending into the clouds surrounded by this light, with one figure on either side of him as light surrounds his head. The inscription reads THE TRANSFIGURATION OF JESUS.
History
The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke all record the events of the Transfiguration, as does the Second Epistle of Peter. Some have also suggested the first chapter in the Gospel of John alludes to this coming event. During the Transfiguration, Jesus sees Moses and Elijah, and speaks to them. Additionally, it is recorded that the voice of God the Father can be heard during the Transfiguration referring to Jesus as Son.
