The background of both coins now has diagonal lines with triangular intersections compared to the 2020 coins use of traditional latitude and longitude lines. The inscriptions read 1 oz Fine Silver 999, Serva Me, Servabo Te, and Terra 2021.

The Tokelau Terra Series calls attention to the changes taking place in the climate and environment of planet Earth. This years design includes a new inscription on the reverse indicating the increased temperature on the planet. An inscription on the rim of +1.07/+1.93 points to the increased average temperature in the 21^st century compared to the 20^th century, with the Celsius/Fahrenheit temperatures noted.
