{{/presale}}2021 celebrates the centennial release of the Morgan Silver Dollar Coin. In the past, coins have been issued to honor all five of the original mints that historically struck this coin. Coins in this series first became available in 1878 through 1904. Production then paused for less than two decades before picking back up again in 1921. This specific coin listing was struck by the San Francisco Mint, a branch of the United States Mint. Currently, the 2021-S Morgan Dollar Silver Coin NGC MS70 can be purchased online from Provident Metals.
Coin Highlights:
The 2021-S Morgan Dollar Silver Coin NGC MS70 was originally manufactured by the San Francisco Mint, but it does not contain the mint marking for said U.S. Mint branch. The 2021 centennial release received a grading of MS70, meaning this coin is considered a perfect specimen with no flaws and retains its full, original mint luster. When ordering from Provident Metals, all coins are packaged individually in protective slabs and ship directly to your door.
History
The San Francisco Mint is one of the two United States Mint branches that has released Morgan Silver Dollar coins every year theyve been in production. This branch of the U.S. Mint in San Francisco originally opened in 1854 and was one of the original branches that released this coin from 1878 to 1904, and then later in 1921 when production began again. The images on the obverse and reverse of these coins symbolize both American ideologies and values.
Obverse
The left-facing profile of Lady Liberty is seen on the obverse of the 2021-S Morgan Dollar Silver Coin NGC MS70. This effigy image was designed by George T. Morgan. On her head, Lady Liberty wears a coronet crown, a laurel wreath, and a Phrygian cap. The edges of the obverse are lined with 13 stars, and the coins release year is also shown below Lady Libertys effigy.
Reverse
The heraldic eagle design by George T. Morgan is shown on the reverse of the 2021-S Morgan Dollar Silver Coin NGC MS70. The American bald eagle is shown front-facing and clutching two items: arrows to represent war and an olive branch to represent peace. A wreath of oak and laurel frames the eagle at the bottom of the reverse.
