{{/presale}}Chibi coins represent one of the newest design concepts in proof collectible silver coins. The New Zealand Mint has several chibi collections to offer collectors, each with colorized proof visuals on shaped silver blanks. Among those collections, you will find the major characters from the Lord of the Rings franchise. Today, you have the chance to get 2021 Niue Chibi Lord of the Rings Samwise Gamgee Shaped 1 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Chibi is a Japanese slang term that refers to an atypical style of caricature drawings. In this case, animated characters are created that have short, chubby bodies and features, but oversized heads. You can see this in the shaped coins of the Lord of the Rings Chibi Series as each characters head makes up nearly half the shape of the silver coins.
Obverse
On the obverse of 2021 Niue Chibi Lord of the Rings Samwise Gamgee Shaped 1 oz Silver Coins is Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief in the famous 1998 effigy from Ian Rank-Broadley. The inscriptions on this face read ELIZABETH II, NIUE, 2021, 2 DOLLARS, and the markings of the trademark and copyright. You will also find 1 OZ 999 FINE SILVER noted on this side of the coin.
Reverse
The reverse face of 2021 Niue Chibi Lord of the Rings Samwise Gamgee Shaped Silver Coins captures the colorized, chibi character of Samwise. He is shown with his most notable physical feature captured in the design, the hairy feet of hobbits. In the films, hobbits are famous for their oversized, hairy feet.
