{{/presale}}With the release of 2021 Morgan Dollars at the United States Mint, America honored the centennial of the final issue of circulating Morgan Dollars in the 20th century. The legacy of this coin program continues today. Though not intended for circulation use, these beautiful silver bullion coins feature the exact same designs and have a legal tender face value of $1 (USD). Today, you have the chance to get 2021 Morgan Dollar Silver Coins in perfect condition online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The Philadelphia Mint issues these 2021 Morgan Dollar Silver Coins as part of the centennial issue of Morgan Dollars. The mint released these coins without a mint mark, just as it did with original Morgan Dollars from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921. In addition to this 2021 Morgan Dollar, Philadelphia issued two other versions with O and CC privy marks to honor the now-defunct New Orleans and Carson City Mints.
Obverse
On the obverse of 2021 Morgan Dollar Silver Coins is a portrait of Lady Liberty. The effigy of Liberty shown here was created by George T. Morgan in 1878 and features Liberty in left-profile relief with a laurel wreath and a coronet crown on her head, with the word LIBERTY inscribed on the coronet. The field includes 13 stars along the rim of the design field, with additional inscriptions of E PLURIBUS UNUM and 2021.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2021 Morgan Dollar Silver Coin is an image of the heraldic eagle of the United States. Also designed by Morgan, this image shows a front-facing eagle that clutches the olive branch of peace and the arrows of war. There is an oak-and-laurel wreath beneath the eagle and inscriptions of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR.
History
The United States Mint issued Morgan Dollar Silver Coins from 1878 to 1904, and after a 17-year hiatus, resumed coining in 1921. Over the course of its history, the Morgan Dollar Silver Coin was issued every year by the Philadelphia Mint and San Francisco Mint. The New Orleans Mint issued the coins every year but 1878 and 1921. The Carson City Mint struck the coins from 1878 to 1885 and 1889 to 1893, with the Denver Mint issuing the coins only once in 1921.
