{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}In 2021, the United States Mint honored the 100th anniversary of its Morgan and Peace Silver Dollar designs. This milestone marked the return of silver dollar production after a 17-year pause. That same year, the Morgan Dollar was struck for the last time before making way for the new Peace Dollar. To commemorate this centennial, the US Mint released six updated silver dollar coins based on the original designs. With this release, collectors can now secure all six coins as part of one complete 2021 Morgan and Peace Dollar 6-Coin Silver Set. These coins are now available in certified perfect condition from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
All 2021 Morgan and Peace Dollar 6-Coin Silver Sets are graded Mint State 70 by the PCGS, meaning they are in flawless condition. Each coin comes individually encapsulated in a secure slab to help protect its pristine appearance.
Obverse
The obverse of each coin in this 2021 set showcases a version of Liberty. George T. Morgans design offers a traditional left-profile portrait of Liberty wearing a cap with agricultural elements. Meanwhile, Anthony de Franciscis version of Liberty for the Peace Dollar also shows a left-facing portrait, with more delicate features, a flowing hairstyle, and a radiant crown.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 2021 Morgan Dollar, you’ll find the iconic heraldic eagle that represents strength and American symbolism. The Peace Dollar features a bald eagle resting peacefully atop an olive branch, serving as a symbol of peace.
History
The full 2021 program includes five Morgan Silver Dollars and one Peace Silver Dollar. The San Francisco Mint struck coins with an S mint mark, while the Denver Mint issued pieces with a D mint mark. The Philadelphia Mint produced three Morgan Dollars: one with no mint mark and two with special privy marks paying tribute to the Carson City (CC) and New Orleans (O) Mint branches. The Peace Dollar was also minted in Philadelphia without a mint mark.
