{{/presale}}From 1878 to 1904, the United States Mint issued the Morgan Dollar as its design for the US silver dollar series. The coin was halted from 1905 to 1920, resuming in 1921 for one final year of availability. In 2021, the US Mint celebrates the centennial of that last Morgan Dollar strike with five bullion versions of the popular design, one for each mint that historically issued the coins. Provident Metals now has 2021 CC Privy Morgan Dollar Silver Coins available to you for purchase online in perfect condition.
Highlights:
When you purchase a 2021 CC Privy Morgan Dollar Silver Coin online in this Provident Metals listing, you will receive a coin that is in perfect condition. The PCGS issues a Mint State 70 grade to coins that showcase full, original mint luster and have no detractions of any kind present. The included First Day of Issue designation indicates a coin that was received for certification within 24 hours of release from the mint.
Obverse
Liberty is found on the obverse side of 2021 CC Privy Morgan Dollar Silver Coins. This portrait of Liberty captures her in left-profile relief. She wears both a laurel wreath and coronet crown on her head, with LIBERTY inscribed on the coronet. There are 13 stars in the design field and additional inscriptions of E PLURIBUS UNUM and 2021.
Reverse
George T. Morgans version of the heraldic eagle of the United States is on the reverse of 2021 CC Privy Morgan Dollar Silver Coins. This image shows the bald eagle in front-facing relief with the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons. The inscriptions on this side read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR. Struck by the Philadelphia Mint with no mint marks, these coins do feature an honorary CC privy mark for the Carson City Mint. The CC inscription is beneath the oak-and-laurel wreath and above the letters D and O from DOLLAR.
History
The Carson City Mint issued Morgan Dollars from 1878 to 1885 and again from 1889 to 1893. Carson City was a purpose-built US Mint branch facility that was opened to take advantage of local silver discoveries for the purposes of coining silver denominations for the nation. It closed in 1893.
