Though the primary BU coins of 2 oz silver, 1 oz gold, and 1/4 oz gold were issued in this timeframe, the larger 10 oz silver coin and the 1 oz platinum coin are offset by a year and first debuted in 2017. Obverse
The obverse of 2021 British Queens Beast White Horse 10 oz Silver Coins comes with an image of Queen Elizabeth II. Britains longest-reigning monarch, Elizabeth II now appears on national currency in a fifth-generation portrait from Jody Clark. Designed in July 2015, the right-profile effigy shows the Queen at the age of 89 with the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head. The inscriptions on this face of the coin include Elizabeth II, D.G. Reg. F.D., and 10 Pounds.
Reverse
On the reverse face of the 2021 British White Horse 10 oz Silver Coin is an image of the White Horse of Hanover supporting the Royal Arms of King George I. The horse stands on its hind legs with its front legs supporting the shield. The quartered shield includes the coat of arms for England, Scotland, France, and Ireland in the first, second, and third quadrants, respectively. The fourth quadrant includes the arms of the House of Hanover that include a White Horse. The inscriptions on this side of the coin read White Horse of Hanover and 10 oz Fine Silver .9999 2021.
History
The White Horse of Hanover was added to the Royal Arms with the ascension to the throne of Elector George of Hanover. The coat of arms for England and Scotland were already combined together prior to King George Is reign, but featured in the first and fourth quadrants opposite the French lilies in the second quadrant and the Harp of Ireland in the third quadrant. With the rise of King George I, the arms for England and Scotland appeared only in the first quadrant, with the arms of the House of Hanover replacing them in the fourth quadrant.
