{{/presale}}The Lunar Ox appears in 2021 with the Year of the Ox on the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The Zodiac follows a 12-year cycle with the same pattern each year through. The cycle always begins with the Year of the Mouse and always concludes with the Year of the Pig. Second in the cycle is the Year of the Ox. Right now, you can purchase 2021 Australian Lunar Ox 1 oz Platinum Coins online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
With your purchase of a 2021 Australian Lunar Ox 1 oz Platinum Coin from Provident Metals, you will receive a specimen that is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The platinum coins have the lowest mintage cap of any 1 oz bullion coin in this series. With just 5,000 platinum coins available, the platinum is by far lower than the 30,000 1 oz gold coins and 300,000 1 oz silver coins.
Obverse
A depiction of Queen Elizabeth II in right-profile relief graces the obverse of the 2021 Australian Lunar Ox 1 oz Platinum Coin. The Queens effigy shown here is the sixth-generation design to feature on the obverse of Australian coins. Designed by Jody Clark in 2015, the image was created for the Royal Mint of England and adapted for use on Perth Mint and Royal Australian Mint currency as well. The inscriptions featured on this side of the coin include Elizabeth II, Australia, 1 oz 9995 Pt, and 100 Dollars.
Reverse
The powerful image of a male ox is shown in the reverse design of the 2021 Australian Lunar Ox Platinum Coin. The ox is a powerful animal used by agricultural societies around the globe for thousands of years. The animals were known for a calm demeanor and diligent, persistent work ethic. Inscriptions on this face of the coins read Ox 2021 and the Chinese symbol for the ox.
History
Lunar Series III coins debuted in 2020 from the Perth Mint. The mint had previously issued the Lunar Series I collection from 1996 to 2007 and the Lunar Series II collection from 2008 to 2019. The 2020 Lunar Series III debut brought with it the new Lunar Series Platinum Coins.
