{{/presale}}One of the most recent additions to the Perth Mints impressive lineup of silver bullion coins is the Australian Emu. Introduced in 2018, it stands alongside the Kookaburra, Koala, Wedge Tail Eagle, and Kangaroo as major silver bullion releases from the mint each year. Provident Metals now has the 2021 Australian Emu 1 oz Silver Coin available to purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase the 2021 Australian Emu 1 oz Silver Coin from Provident Metals, the coin you receive comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Coins in this series are available individually inside protective plastic capsules, rolls of 20 silver coins, or mint-sealed boxes of 100 coins. Inside of the box, you will find five individual 20-coin rolls.
Obverse
The obverse side of 2021 Australian Emu 1 oz Silver Coins depicts Queen Elizabeth II in right-profile relief. Created in 2015 by Jody Clark, this design first appeared on British coins and has been the standard sixth-generation effigy of the Queen on Australian coins since 2018. It depicts the Queen in right-profile relief with the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head. The inscriptions on this field read Elizabeth II, Australia, and 1 Dollar.
Reverse
On the reverse face of the 2021 Australian Emu Silver Coin is a male emu near a body of water with its young hatchling. The hatchling has ventured close to the edge of the water as the male emu keeps a watchful eye on the pairs surroundings to ensure no predators get the drop on the young hatchling. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include Australian Emu, 2021 1 oz 9999 Silver, and the P mint mark of the Perth Mint.
History
This is the fourth issue of the Australian Emu Series from the Perth Mint. It features a new reverse design element and has the same mintage as the three previous releases. This years design shows off the male-hatchling relationship in the emu species. The male emu is responsible for the incubation and care of young emu after birth, which makes it highly likely that the pair featured in this years design represent a hatchling and its father.
