{{/presale}}The Perth Mint is out with a new series of Chinese-themed designs on 1 oz silver coins. Within Chinese mythology, there are many creatures spoken of in folklore and captured in artistic renderings. The most important of these is the dragon, a beast that provided the people with rain when the Jade Emperor did not respond to the prayers of the people for water for their crops. Provident Metals now has the 2021 Australian Chinese Myths & Legends Dragon 1 oz Silver Coin available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase one of these 2021 Australian Chinese Myths & Legends Dragon 1 oz Silver Coins at Provident Metals, you will receive a specimen that is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are packaged individually in plastic capsules, rolls of 20 coins, or boxes of 100 silver coins. The box holds five rolls of 20 coins each.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 2021 Australian Chinese Myths & Legends Dragon Silver Coins features an image of Queen Elizabeth II. Jody Clark designed this effigy of Her Majesty in July 2015 as the fifth-generation portrait of the Queen for British coins. In 2018, it made its debut as the sixth-generation portrait on Australian coins. It was the first since 1966 to include the Queens full neckline and shoulders. The inscriptions on this side include Elizabeth II, Australia, 1 oz 9999 Ag, 2021, and 1 Dollar.
Reverse
On the reverse face of the 2021 Australian Myths & Legends Dragon Silver Coins is a depiction of the Chinese dragon from Natasha Muhl. The design shows the coiled, serpent-like beast with the flaming pearl in its claw and artfully designed clouds filling the background field. Inscriptions on this face of the coin include the P mint mark of the Perth Mint and the NM initials of the designer.
History
The new Chinese Myths & Legends Series launches with a depiction of the Chinese dragon. This collection picks up on the history of the dragon designs released by the mint in 2017 that included combinations of the dragon and phoenix, dragon and tiger, and the double dragon.
