{{/presale}}The American Eagle Silver Coins available in 2021 feature two different reverse design elements. Available in the BU and Proof coins with both design elements, there are also BU silver coins offered with enhancements from Emporium-Hamburg that offer a thin layer of 24-karat gold. Provident Metals now has 2021 American Eagle Silver 2-Coin Sets with gilded finishes available to purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase a 2021 American Eagle Silver 2-Coin Set online at Provident Metals, you will receive two coins that have been enhanced by Emporium-Hamburg. The coins are individually packaged in acrylic capsules and housed together in a two-coin presentation box. The set features thin applications of 24-karat gold on the coins, with this gilded layer present on the obverse of the Type 1 and the reverse of the Type 2.
Obverse
Walking Liberty is found on the obverse of 2021 American Eagle Silver Coins in this 2-Coin Gilded Set. The image of Liberty found here is in left-profile relief as designed by Adolph A. Weinman. The inscriptions on both coins include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2021. The Type 2 coin also has an inscription of AW, the signature mark of Weinman that was added for Type 2 coins. The gilded application is on the figure of Liberty, her branches of oak and laurel, the American flag, and the sun and mountain in the horizon.
Reverse
There are two different designs on the coins in the 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver 2-Coin Set. The reverse design of the Type 1 coin has John Mercantis depiction of the heraldic eagle of the United States. The reverse of the Type 2 coin includes the new soaring bald eagle with a large oak branch in its talons. The eagles body and the oak branch have been gilded on the Type 2 coin. Both coins have inscriptions of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, and 1 OZ. FINE SILVER.
History
The new reverse design found on the Type 2 coin replaces the existing heraldic eagle design from John Mercanti. The design was created by Emily Damstra, a designer in the US Mint Artistic Infusion Program. She has previously worked with the US Mint on the America the Beautiful Series and has worked with the Royal Canadian Mint on the Canadian Wildlife Series and Birds of Prey Series.
