{{/presale}}No silver coin is as popular as the American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin. The silver bullion specimens are available on an annual basis and have been since 1986 when the US Mint introduced the series. Since that time, the same designs have been in use on the obverse and reverse. 2021 offers you the last chance to get this iconic combination together as specimens struck later in 2021 will have a new reverse.
Highlights:
The American Eagle has been available in 1 oz silver since 1986 when the US Mint issued the coins for the first time. The bullion version of the coin must be struck to meet demand each year under the provisions of the legislation passed by Congress that authorized the production and issuance of the coins. As such, there are no missing date marks in the collection. However, with a new design coming to the reverse of 2021-dated coins later in the year, the 2021 date mark is bound to be the most unique in the series for decades to come.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins, you will find the left-profile effigy of Lady Liberty. This particular design is known as Walking Liberty and was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman. The inscriptions on this face of the coin include Liberty, In God We Trust, and 2021.
Reverse
The reverse face of 2021 American Eagle Silver Coins features the heraldic eagle. This is the last date mark that will feature the heraldic eagle, an official symbol of the federal government. The design from John Mercanti shows the bald eagle with a shield on its chest, arrows in one talon, an olive branch in the other, and a ribbon in its beak with the inscription E Pluribus Unum.
History
These 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins are going to be the last ones with the heraldic eagle on the reverse. The US Mint has selected new designs for the reverse of the American Eagle bullion coins and will have those designs in production later in 2021, making it the only date mark in the programs history with different designs on the reverse in the same year.
Ordering
These 2021 American Eagle Silver Coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and packaged individually or in multiples. Individual coins come with a plastic flip. Multiples are housed in tubes of 20 coins or Monster Boxes of 500 coins.
