{{/presale}}2021 marks another major milestone for the American Eagle Silver Coin Series. In its previous anniversary release in 2016, the US Mint gave the American Eagle Silver Coin an edge-lettered inscription on the proof version for the first time ever. Now, another first comes in the 35th-anniversary release in 2021 with a new design element on the reverse of the coins. 2021 features batches of the coins issued early in the year with the original reverse and later in the year with the new reverse. Provident Metals currently has near-perfect 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins with the original reverse designs available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you buy these 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins from Provident Metals, the specimen you receive comes with a near-perfect certification from the PCGS. Coins in Mint State 69 condition showcase full, original mint luster and come with no more than two minor detracting flaws present. Those flaws are limited in nature to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and limited in scope to the areas outside of the primary focal points on the coin.
Obverse
The obverse of 2021 American Eagle Silver Coins depicts Walking Liberty. This vision of Liberty captures her in left-profile relief draped in the American flag as she walks toward the sun on the horizon. As she walks, she reaches out toward the sun with her right hand and carries the branches of oak and laurel in her left hand. Inscriptions on this face of the coin read Liberty, In God We Trust, and 2021.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins, you will find the heraldic eagle of the United States. Designed by John Mercanti, this version of the national emblem depicts a powerful bald eagle supporting the US national shield with its wings flexed out wide to its sides. The bird uses its talons to grasp the olive branch of peace and the arrows of war. Over its head, there is a triangular cluster of 13 stars representing the original colonies. The inscriptions on this side include United States of America and 1 oz. Fine Silver – One Dollar.
History
The 2021 date mark is the final one to feature the heraldic eagle of the United States. This design was modernized for use in this series back in 1986 by John Mercanti and will be replaced by mid-2021 with a new design of the bald eagle from Emily Damstra.
