{{/presale}}In 2021, the United States Mint marked the 35th anniversary of the coveted American Eagle Silver Series with a new design. After using the original heraldic eagle design from 1986 to 2021, the release of Type 2 coins in 2021 brought with it the first overhaul of the American Eagle in its history. Provident Metals currently offers 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Type 2 Coins with a gilded finish for you to purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase a 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Type 2 Coin in this Provident Metals listing, you will receive a coin that is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition with a protective acrylic capsule available for delivery. The coins in this special version of the American Eagle Silver Type 2 Coin have a thin application of 24-karat gold on the reverse field known as a gilded layer.
Obverse
Walking Liberty is found on the obverse side of 2021 American Eagle Silver Type 2 Coins. First design in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, this vision of Liberty shows her in left-profile relief walking toward the sun as it rests along a mountain ridgeline. Her right hand reaches out for the warmth of the sun, her left carries the branches of oak and laurel, and the American flag is draped around her figure. The design field includes inscriptions of LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2021. There is a new inclusion on this face of AW, the signature mark of Weinman that originally graced the Walking Liberty Half Dollar.
Reverse
A new depiction of the bald eagle is featured in the reverse design of 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Type 2 Coins. This design comes from Emily Damstra and shows the bald eagle in flight with a large oak branch in its talons. This design element includes the 24-karat gold plating, which is restricted to the frame of the eagle and the oak branch. The inscriptions on this face of the coin include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and ONE DOLLAR.
History
The new design featured on 2021 American Eagle Type 2 Silver Coins is the only one you will find on the coins starting in 2022. This design was created by Emily Damstra, a member of the US Mint Artistic Infusion Program. She previously worked on the Canadian Wildlife and Birds of Prey Series at the Royal Canadian Mint, and has also contributed to the America the Beautiful Series at the US Mint.
