{{/presale}}The American Eagle Gold Coin is available to you in 2021 with two different design options. From January to June, the US Mint produced the Type 1 coins for the last time before a pause that allowed it to transition to the production of 2021-dated coins with the new reverse design element. Today, you have the opportunity to get certified-perfect 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins from the Last Day of Production online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each one of the coins in this listing comes to you with a special Last Day of Production label. This label means the PCGS can guarantee that these coins were struck by the US Mint on the final day of production in mid-2021 as the US Mint prepared to shift gears to Type 2 coinage.
Obverse
On the obverse of 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Gold Type 1 Coins is an image of Lady Liberty. This effigy was created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the $20 Double Eagle Gold Coins. It features Liberty in front-facing relief as she walks toward the viewer with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The U.S. Capitol Building is depicted near her feet with sun rays behind her and a ring of 50 stars around the field. The inscriptions on this face include LIBERTY and 2021.
Reverse
The reverse side of 2021 American Eagle Gold Type 1 Coins comes with a depiction of a family of American bald eagles. This design was created in 1986 by Miley Busiek for the debut of the American Eagle Gold Series. It depicts a male eagle flying over the nest as a female and young hatchling are hunkered down in the nest. Inscriptions on this side of the coin read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and 1 OZ. FINE GOLD 50 DOLLARS.
History
The American Eagle Gold Coins have been issued in two waves in 2021, with Type 1 BU and Proof coins struck through mid-2021. With the start of Type 2 production following a pause in coining, the 2021 coins in the BU, Proof, and Burnished collections now feature a new reverse design.
Ordering
These 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins are available in perfect condition. Coins in Mint State 70 condition have full, original mint luster and no flaws. The Last Day of Production label, as mentioned, indicates coins that were struck on the final day of Type 1 coining in 2021.
