Highlights:
Provident Metals is pleased to offer you the 2020 St. Lucia Whiptail Lizard 1 oz Silver Coins for purchase online in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are housed individually inside protective plastic flips. You can also get multiples of 5 silver coins inside of Scottsdale Mint skinboards. These unique skinboards house the five coins in their own sealed sections.
Obverse
Queen Elizabeth II features on the obverse side of 2020 St. Lucia Whiptail Lizard 1 oz Silver Coins. The Queens effigy as shown here was created by Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998. This design is the fourth-generation effigy of Her Majesty to appear on British and Commonwealth currency during her historic and record-breaking reign. It depicts the Queen with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, a piece passed down to her from her grandmother and one that is said to be her favorite piece of jewelry. The inscriptions around the edge include Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, 1 oz .999 Silver, Queen Elizabeth II, and Two Dollars.
Reverse
A whiptail lizard is depicted lounging on a rock in the foreground of the reverse design field on 2020 St. Lucia Whiptail Lizard Silver Coins. This species of lizard is considered critically endangered. Endemic to Central America, South America, and the West Indies, St. Lucia is actually the only island in the Caribbean on which you will find these creatures. The background field offers a stunning view of Gros and Petit Piton, a stunning pair of collapsed, dormant volcanoes.
History
The EC8 Series launched in 2018 from the Scottsdale Mint and remains the most diverse series of Caribbean silver coins in the world. The series offers distinctive designs for each of the eight nations that use the Eastern Caribbean dollar: Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, and Anguilla.
