Obverse
The obverse field of the 2020 Proof Netherlands Lion Dollar 1 oz Silver Coin includes a depiction of a rampant lion. The lion dollar design featured on these restrikes is one that was introduced in 1651. It comes with inscriptions in Dutch that read CONFIDENS. DNO. NON. MOVETVR, which translates into English as Who trusts in the Lord is not moved. This was adopted as the motto of the United Provinces.
Reverse
On the reverse face of 2020 Proof Netherlands Lion Dollar Silver Coins is an image of a Dutch knight. In front of the legs of the Dutch knight is the Netherlands coat of arms. The Dutch coat of arms features a shield with a rampant lion. The inscriptions on this face of the coin include MO. ARG. PRO. CONFOE. BELG. and HOL. This translates into English as Silver money of the Province of the Netherlands Confederation Holland.
History
The history of the lion dollar is complex. The first lion dollar was produced by the province of Holland in 1575. Unified Dutch provinces began to issue the lion dollar in the early 17th century, with six of the seven Dutch provinces and major European cities issuing the coins by the mid-17th century. The specific rampant lion design on these restrikes debut on the lion dollars in 1651.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
