It is the latter two options that often command the most attention from collectors in any given year. Today, you have the opportunity to purchase 2020 Proof Mexican Libertad 1/10 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The Mexican Libertad bullion coin program, consisting of gold and silver bullion coins, features a design inspired by the gold Centenario. The Centenario was a 50 Peso gold piece issued by the Mexican Mint in 1921 to mark 100 years since the end of the nations war of independence with Spain. That same image of Victory appeared on the original gold and silver bullion coins in this program when the Mexican Mint introduced it in the 1980s.
Obverse
On the obverse side of the 2020 Proof Mexican Libertad 1/10 oz Silver Coins is a depiction of Winged Victory. She is inspired by the goddess of victory, Victoria, and carries a wreath crown in one hand and broken chains in the other. A statue of Victory was commissioned and built in 1910 to mark 100 years from the start of the war, and that statue was placed at the top of the Mexican Independence Victory Column in Mexico City in 1921 to mark 100 years of independence. The statue, as featured here, stands above the city and is 22-feet tall in real life.
Reverse
The reverse face of 2020 Proof Mexican Libertad 1/10 oz Silver Coins bears the modern image of the Mexican Coat of Arms. This national seal includes a Mexican golden eagle with a serpent and a cactus arm.
