{{/presale}}The 2020 release of American Eagle 1 oz Silver coins will forever be remembered for its distinctive emergency issue of 2020 American Eagle Silver Coins at the Philadelphia Mint. With a total of 240,000 additional 2020 American Eagle Silver Coins released in an emergency production ramp-up at Philadelphia, the series has bullion coins from the Philadelphia Mint for the first time since 2000. Provident Metals currently has 2020 (P) American Eagle NGC Silver Gem Rolls available to you for online purchasing.
Highlights:
When you purchase 2020 (P) American Eagle NGC Silver Gem Roll, you receive a clear NGC roll containing a total of 20 individual 2020 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. To qualify for packaging together, all of these coins must be Gem Uncirculated. This means the coins may showcase minor imperfections as a result of the coining process or have acceptable levels of toning, but are otherwise beautiful coins with full mint luster.
Each of the tubes is securely sealed by the NGC and the coins within have been certified as Early Release coins by the NGC. This means the coins were received by the NGC or an approved third-party depository within the opening 30-day window following release by the United States Mint.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 2020 (P) American Eagle Silver Coin features Walking Liberty. This iconic design was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and originally used on the US Half Dollar from 1916 to 1947. It shows Liberty walking toward the sun on the horizon in left-profile relief with inscriptions of Liberty, In God We Trust, and 2020.
Reverse
On the reverse face of 2020 (P) American Eagle Silver Coins is the heraldic eagle of the United States. Modified by John Mercanti in 1986 for this coin release, the design includes the traditional symbols of the bald eagle, US national shield, arrows of war, and olive branch of peace. Mercantis design is unique in the use of a tight, triangular cluster of 13 stars above the eagles head. Inscriptions on this side read United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, and 1 oz. Fine Silver One Dollar.
History
The last time the Philadelphia Mint struck bullion American Eagle Silver coins was in 2000. With a global pandemic resulting in reduced staffing and an eventual seven-day closure at the West Point Mint, the US Mint had to use the capacity of the Philadelphia Mint to release emergency issue 2020 American Eagle Silver Coins to meet the surging demand as stock markets suffered the effects of shuttered economies around the globe.
