{{/presale}}American Silver Eagle bullion coins have seen a surge in demand in 2020 following a mild January and February of sales. Demand for the 1 oz silver bullion coin skyrocketed in March and April to the point that the United States Mint had to enlist the coining capacity of the Philadelphia Mint to keep up with demand by releasing an emergency issue of the popular American Eagle Silver bullion coins. Right now, you can purchase near-perfect 2020-P American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
With your purchase of these 2020-P American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins, you receive a coin inside of a protective plastic slab that has been certified by the NGC. Coins in Mint State 69 condition exhibit full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Acceptable flaws at this level include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines that must be located outside of the primary focal points of the coin. The First Day of Issue label is for coins that were received for grading within the first 24 hours of release from the United States Mint.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2020-P American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin is a depiction of Walking Liberty. This image of Liberty was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and used on the US Half Dollar through 1947. Walking Liberty is shown in left-profile relief as she moves toward the sun on the horizon. Her right hand is outstretched toward the sun on the horizon with her left hand carrying branches of oak and laurel. The American flag is draped over her shoulders in the design.
Reverse
The reverse face of 2020-P American Eagle Silver Coins includes the heraldic eagle of the United States. This design was first created in 1794 by Robert Scot and modified countless times for different American denominations. It depicts the American bald eagle with the US national shield, the olive branch of peace, and a triangular cluster of 13 stars above the head of the eagle.
History
Demand for the American Eagle Silver coin became so intense in March 2020 that the West Point Mint ran out of available coins to sell to authorized dealers. Emergency work to produce more coins to meet the increased, sustained demand started up immediately and included work at the Philadelphia Mint to help compensate for a temporary shutdown that occurred at the West Point Mint during this same period.
