{{/presale}}As the world devolved into the chaos of World War II, nations around the world aligned themselves with the major powers leading the two belligerent camps in the war: Allied and Axis Powers. Even before entering the war officially, the United States played a major role in supporting the Allies with its lend-lease program and massive manufacturing base. When the US entered the war in 1941, it became a global leader in the fight. Now, 2020 End of WWII 75th Anniversary 1 oz Silver Medals are available to you for purchase online from Provident Metals.

Obverse
An American bald eagle is featured in flight on the obverse side of 2020 End of WWII 75th Anniversary 1 oz Silver Medals. The American bald eagle swoops into view with its left-wing flexed down around the bottom half of the design field as one of its talons reaches into the field with an olive branch in its clutches. The inscriptions on this side read Liberty, World War II, and 1945.
Reverse
The sun rises over the branch of an olive tree in the reverse design of the 2020 End of WWII 75th Anniversary 1 oz Silver Medals. The design shown here is based on a 1945 World War II Victory Medal. This twist on the design sets the sun at a noonday position above the olive branch from the tree. The inscription includes 75th Anniversary.
History
By 1941, the Second World War had grown to encompass all corners of the globe with only a handful of nations remaining neutral. The United States took on a leadership role among the Allies once it entered the war in late 1941. Some 16 million soldiers served in the United States Armed Forces during the war, with 35 million serving in the Soviet Red Army, 13 million serving in the army of Nazi Germany, and 6 million serving in the Imperial Japanese Army. The US, United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union were the primary leaders of the Allies, while Nazi Germany, the Kingdom of Italy, and the Empire of Japan formed the Axis Powers.
