{{/presale}}After featuring the tallest living land mammal in the first release, the new Worlds Wildlife Series of silver coins now moves on to feature the animal that is unchallenged as the largest mammal in the world today. The Antarctic blue whale tips the scales at more than 400,000 pounds and 98 feet in length, making it the runaway champion when it comes to animal size in the world. Provident Metals currently has 2020 Congo Whale 1 oz Silver Coins with a gilded application available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase a 2020 Congo Whale 1 oz Silver Coin at Provident Metals, the coin you receive is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Each coin in this limited release is packaged individually inside of a protective plastic capsule. Gilded silver coins such as these are those that have a thin layer of 24-karat gold applied to select design elements. In the case of these gilded coins, the gold layer is limited to the body of the animal, and a few select inscriptions on the reverse.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2020 Congo Whale 1 oz Silver Coins includes a depiction of the national coat of arms for the Democratic Republic of Congo. The seal is one of the few in the world to not feature a shield, instead focusing on the face of a leopard in front-facing relief. The element includes a spear on one side and an elephant tusk on the other. Signs around the seal depict the national motto of Justice, Paix, and Travail. The year of issue is split on each side of the seal as 20 and 20. Other inscriptions include Republique Democratique du Congo, 1 oz Ag 999,9, and 20 Francs. The entire obverse has a beaded border around its outermost edge.
Reverse
On the reverse field of 2020 Congo Whale Silver Coins is an image of the Antarctic blue whale. The worlds largest living mammal, the blue whale requires a great deal of food to maintain its spot as the champion of world animals when it comes to size. To support its 400,000-pound weight, the blue whale will consume upwards of 7,936 pounds of krill each day during its primary feeding season. Inscriptions on this face of the coin that are gilded include The Whale and Worlds Wildlife. The body of the whale is also gilded. At the bottom, there is an image of the globe, showcasing the vast reach of the whale in the worlds oceans.
History
The 2020 Congo Whale is the second coin offered in the Worlds Wildlife Series. The first coin was the 2019 Giraffe, a release that was also available in 1 oz silver, colorized, and gilded silver options.
