{{/presale}}The Canadian Maple Leaf Series is one of the most robust in the world. If you want to buy the iconic Canadian Maple Leaf from the Royal Canadian Mint, you can choose between gold, silver, platinum, and palladium versions. Each one is a landmark coin in its own right, with the Canadian Maple Leaf Platinum Coin one of the longest-running platinum coins in the world. Right now, you can buy the 2020 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Platinum Coin from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Canadian Maple Leaf Platinum Coins were introduced by the Royal Canadian Mint in 1988 at the same time the Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Coin was first struck. The silver version was the first of its kind with .9999 pure silver content. The platinum version is widely viewed as just the second platinum coin available from a major industrialized nation. Only Australia has an older platinum coin having issued its first platinum bullion coin in 1987.
Obverse
For the obverse side of 2020 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Platinum Coins, the Royal Canadian Mint features the fourth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty has been Queen of England since 1952 and is now the longest-reigning monarch in British history. This is the first portrait on a Canadian coin during her reign not to have a crown on her head.
Reverse
The reverse face of the 2020 Canadian Maple Leaf Platinum Coins comes with a sugar maple leaf design. The sugar maple is one of the more ubiquitous maple species in North America and is the official emblem of the nation of Canada. In addition to appearing on the Canadian Maple Leaf coins, it also features on the Canadian national flag. The design included here comes from Walter Ott and was designed in 1979.
History
The Canadian Maple Leaf Platinum Coin is regarded as the second coin of its kind introduced by behind an Australian platinum series. Later coins, such as the American Eagle Platinum Coin and British Britannia Platinum Coin, were not introduced until 1997 and 2018, respectively. In 2013, the Canadian Maple Leaf Platinum Coin ranked as the single best-selling platinum coin in the world.

2020 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Platinum Coins ship in Brilliant Uncirculated condition with protective flips for individual coins and mint tubes for multiples of 10 coins.
