{{/presale}}Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins not only represents one of the most beautiful gold bullion specimens in the world, but the coins also symbolize the height of security against counterfeiting in the bullion market. You will find two security features in the design of every 2020 Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin. Provident Metals now offers you the chance to add the 2020 Canadian Maple Leaf 1/2 oz Gold Coin to your portfolio.
Highlights:
Starting in 2014, the Royal Canadian Mint introduced two security features to major bullion coins it produces. The first of these includes radial lines on both the obverse and reverse background fields of the coins. More recently, the RCM added maple leaf privy marks to the reverse field that include the last two digits of the date mark within. For example, 20 is featured in the maple leaf privy on the reverse of these coins.
Obverse
The obverse of 2020 Canadian Maple Leaf 1/2 oz Gold Coin includes the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is depicted at the age of 79 in this design that was created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt. Ms. Blunt is just the second Canadian artist ever to create an effigy of a monarch for Canadian currency. Inscriptions include Elizabeth II and 10 Dollars 2019.
Reverse
On the reverse of 2020 Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins, you will find the sugar maple leaf design from Walter Ott. Created in 1979, it was designed for the debut of the Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins and is now used on all versions of the Canadian Maple Leaf program. Inscriptions on this side read Canada, 9999 on both sides of the leaf, and Pure Gold 1/2 oz Or Pur.
History
Canadian Maple Leaf Gold coins debuted with only a 1 oz gold coin available in .999 metal content. The gold purity was increased in November 1982 to .9999 metal content and these 1/2 oz gold coins were added to the lineup in 1986.
