{{/presale}}Queen was arguably one of the leading rock groups of the 1970s and 1980s. The group earned a deserved reputation as one of the most entertaining stadium rock bands in the world, thanks in some part to the vision of Freddie Mercury. Among its major achievements are the releases of We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Another One Bites The Dust, and Bohemian Rhapsody. Today, you have the opportunity to add the 2020 British Music Legends Queen 1 oz Silver Coin to your portfolio by purchasing the coins online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The British Music Legends Series from the Royal Mint of England is a new collection that focuses on the greatest music acts to originate in the United Kingdom. First up in the series is Queen, the group formed by Taylor, May, and Freddie Mercury in 1970. All of the coins share the same basic design elements, with options including a 2 oz proof silver coin, 1/2 oz proof silver coin, 1 oz colorized proof silver coin, and gold proof and bullion coins as well.
Obverse
On the obverse side of 2020 British Music Legends Queen 1 oz Silver Coins is a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II in right-profile relief. Her Majesty is shown here in the fifth-generation image used on British denominations. Created in 2015 by Jody Clark, this bust of the Queen offers up a portrait in which Elizabeth II wears the George IV State Diadem Crown from the Crown Jewels.
Reverse
The reverse face of 2020 British Music Legends Queen Silver Coins features the image of musical instruments that made the music of Queen. Included in the design are the following elements: a keyboard at the top, a microphone and stand through the center, two guitars and a drum below. This reflects the instruments and tools used by each of the members of Queen.
History
Queen ruled the rock charts for much of the decade between 1975 and 1985. The group gained international fame with the 1975 release of A Night at the Opera. That particular album has the wildly popular Bohemian Rhapsody included, a song that remained at the top of the charts in the UK for nine weeks and helped draw attention to the relatively new music video format.
