{{/presale}}Australian Kangaroo Gold Coins are the primary gold bullion coin offered by the Perth Mint each year. Available annually back to 1986 when the coins debuted as the Australian Nugget Gold bullion series, the collection has long used new reverse designs with each date mark, switching from Gold Nuggets in 1989 to the Kangaroo in 1990 and continuing on with the popular marsupial to this day. Provident Metals now has 2020 Australian Kangaroo 1 oz Gold Coins available to purchase online in MintID certificate cards.
Highlights:
MintID has pioneered the use of NFC microchips in certificate cards to provide the latest-and-greatest in bullion security. Each one of the MintID certificate cards has a unique NFC microchip that is linked to only one coin, the one housed inside of the card. When you scan that chip it pulls up the unique digital profile of that individual coin with authentication information showing you the weight, purity, metal content, date of issue, and mint of issue for the coin inside.
Obverse
The obverse of 2020 Australian Kangaroo 1 oz Gold Coins includes a design of Queen Elizabeth II. This depiction of Her Majesty was created in 2015 by Jody Clark for the Royal Mint of England and adapted for use on Australian coinage in 2018 as the sixth-generation effigy of the monarch on Australian coins. Inscriptions that accompany the Queens portrait include Elizabeth II, Australia, and 100 Dollars.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 2020 Australian Kangaroo Gold Coins is a new design exclusive to the 2020 date mark. In this design, an adult kangaroo is shown in the foreground with its young joey in the background. Both marsupials are standing on their powerful hind legs and appear to be on alert as their heads look in the same direction with ears perked up toward possible danger.
History
MintID technology is new to the bullion market and is revolutionizing the way in which coins can be housed securely inside of certificate cards. The NFC microchips built into the certificate card go beyond serial numbers and QR codes to offer an encrypted platform with AES-128 bit protocols to create a secure, digital profile in the cloud accessible only through the MintID app. Using this app and the NFC technology in your smartphone, you can instantly authenticate your purchase. The app requires iOS 13.0 or later or Android 4.2 or later to run properly.
