This bust of Washington in left-profile relief has appeared on circulation US quarters since 1932 and was modified for use on the ATB Series of silver coins. The bust was originally created in 1932 by John Flanagan. The presidents bust was chosen in 1932 to mark the 200^th anniversary of his birth and placed on the quarter to replace the suspended Standing Liberty design halted in 1930.

Reverse

History
