The burnished coin is the most recent addition having debuted in 2006. The proof coin was released between 1986 and 1988, and missed only the 2009 issue year to this point. Highlights:
All American Eagle Gold Coins have 22-karat gold content. The American Eagle was the purest gold coin the US Mint last issued a gold coin in 1933 and last issued a gold coin this pure in 1834. The American Eagle Gold Coins have 91.67% gold content by weight with an alloy of 5.33% copper and 3% silver making up the rest of the metal content.
Obverse
On the obverse face is Lady Liberty from Augustus Saint-Gaudens. 2019-W Proof American Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coins feature Liberty walking away from Washington DC as she holds out a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left.
Reverse
The reverse side of 2019-W Proof American Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coins comes with a family of American bald eagles. This design was created in 1986 exclusively for this series. Miley Busiek created the artwork with a male eagle flying over the nest as a female eagle guards over a hatchling in the nest.
History
Proof American Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coins were introduced in 1987. The proof coins debuted in 1986 with the 1 oz gold coin and would later gain 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz gold coins in 1988 after the introduction of the 1/2 oz gold coin.

DCAM stands for deep-cameo and indicates the coins have strong, frosted designs with deeply-mirrored, clear background fields. FS coins are First Strike specimens, those which arrived for grading within 30 days of the initial release date.
