Highlights:
The jointly-issued Pride of Two Nations 2-Coin Silver Set had a total mintage of 110,000 sets. The United States Mint issued 100,000 of the coin sets with the Royal Canadian Mint releasing the remaining 10,000 coin sets. The series featured unique visual elements on each of the two coins.
Obverse
On the obverse of the coins in the 2019 RCM Pride of Two Nations 2-Coin Silver Sets, you will find the respective designs from the American Eagle and Canadian Maple Leaf. Walking Liberty appears on the obverse side of the American Eagle Silver Coins in the 1916 design from Adolph A. Weinman. Queen Elizabeth II is found on the obverse of the Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Coins in a fourth-generation portrait from Susanna Blunt.
Reverse
The reverse face of the coins offered in the 2019 RCM Pride of Two Nations 2-Coin Silver Sets are images of the heraldic eagle of the United States and the sugar maple leaf. The reverse of the American Eagle boasts the heraldic eagle of the US designed in 1986 by John Mercanti. It features the American bald eagle with the US heraldic shield, arrows of war, and olive branch of peace. On the reverse of the Canadian Maple Leaf coin is the sugar maple leaf designed in 1979 by Walter Ott.
History
The American Eagle Silver Coin in this set has reverse proof visuals with varying polished and frosted surfaces. The Canadian Maple Leaf Coin is an enhanced proof with three times the brilliance of a standard proof coin.
