{{/presale}}When you shop the selection of silver bullion from KOMSCO, you will find the South Korean Tiger among the many options to choose from whether you are hoping to invest in silver or collect unique pieces. Introduced in 2018, the South Korean Tiger Medals are available in 1 oz silver bullion, 1 oz silver proof, and 10 oz silver bullion. Provident Metals now offers you the chance to purchase 2019 Proof South Korean Tiger 1 oz Silver Medals.
Highlights:
There is species known specifically as the Korean tiger. Instead, it is a regional name for the Siberian tiger. Though the tiger is now limited in its range to the Russian Far East and Northeast China, with a few creatures possibly living in the wilds along the border of China and North Korea, the Siberian once had a much larger range that included the whole of the Korean peninsula. The last known tiger in the wilds of South Korea was killed on Mt. Daedeok in 1921.
Obverse
A Korean tiger rips through the design field on the obverse of the 2019 Proof South Korean Tiger 1 oz Silver Medal. This design is unique to the 2019 release of Korean Tiger Silver Medals and depicts the claws of the tiger ripping through the design field and exposing its ferocious appearance. Inscriptions on this side of the medal include Korean Tiger 2019 and 1 oz.
Reverse
For the reverse design, the 2019 Proof South Korean Tiger Silver Medal features the Korean peninsula as youve never seen it before. The letters from the Hangul, the Korean alphabet make up the shape of the peninsula. You will find the taeguk, the official emblem of the Republic of Korea as depicted on the national flag. Inscriptions here include Republic of Korea and Fine Silver 999.
History
KOMSCO introduced the South Korean Tiger Medal Series in 2016 with a gold bullion option. That range now includes a 1/10 oz gold option and the broader series gained these silver medals in 2018.
