The collection features mythical and heraldic beasts from the more than 900 years of British Royal history. The Yale of Beaufort has its origins through King Henry VII who was the founding monarch of the House of Tudors. This silver coin contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver and has mintage figures limited to 4,250. This well-designed coin is popular amongst collectors of precious metals and amongst those who collect interesting pieces.

This coin is a proof, which refers to the finish of the coin. A proof blank is specially treated, polished by hand and cleaned to ensure that the strikes are of the highest quality. The coins are struck at least twice. Proof coins feature highly polished mirrored backgrounds with frosted designs that help to add an interesting perspective and more detail.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2019 Proof British Queens Beast Yale 1 oz Silver Coin features the right-profile portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This effigy is the fifth generation portrait to appear on Englands coinage. It was created in 2015 by artist Jody Clark, for the Royal Mint of England. Her Majesty is the longest-reigning monarch in Englands history and is depicted here at 89 years of age.
Reverse
The reverse design of the 2019 British Queen’s Beast Yale of Beaufort 1 oz Silver Coin features the coat of arms that was first used by the Duke of Somerset, John Beaufort. The Yale of Beaufort is a mythical beast that is often depicted taking the form of an antelope or goat. The beast is shown with horns on its head and tusks next to its snout.
The Yale of Beaufort become a part of the Royal Arms through the only heir of the Duke of Somerset. His daughter, Lady Margaret, was the mother of Henry VII who took the throne in 1485 when he defeated King Richard III. Henry was the founder of the House of Tudor dynasty and its through him that the Yale of Beaufort was introduced into the Royal Arms.
