{{/presale}}The Queens Beast Series from the Royal Mint of England is one of the most beautiful and sought-after coin collections available at the moment. Introduced in 2016, the series is set to run through 2021 with its BU releases and later in its proof issues. The proof coins in this series come with very low mintage figures and beautiful visual elements. Today, you have the chance to get 2019 Proof British Queens Beast Yale 1/4 oz Gold Coins online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The Queens Beast Series features a total of 10 designs in all, each one depicting a different heraldic beast that was present at the coronation ceremony for Queen Elizabeth II. As the Queen approached Westminster Abbey for her coronation ceremony, 10 heraldic beasts passed down through the ages by other monarchs through the Royal Arms of England.
Obverse
Queen Elizabeth II is found on the obverse side of 2019 Proof British Queens Beast Yale 1/4 oz Gold Coins. The depiction of the Queen featured here is the fifth-generation bust of Her Majesty created in July 2015 by Jody Clark. Mr. Clark is the youngest artist ever to create a monarch portrait for British coins as he was just 33 years old when the portrait was developed. It shows the queen in right-profile relief with the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head.
Reverse
The Yale of Beaufort emblem is depicted on the reverse of the 2019 Proof British Queens Beast Yale 1/4 oz Gold Coin. The Yale is shown standing on its hind legs with its front legs up on the shield used by King Henry VII as his personal badge. The portcullis emblem found at the center came from the family of his mother, Lady Margaret of Beaufort.
History
The Yale of Beaufort emblem comes from John Beaufort whose only surviving child, Margaret, would go on to have her only child with Edmund Tudor. That child was the future King Henry VII who launched the House of Tudor dynasty that continued through King Henry VIII, Queen Mary, King Edward VI, and Queen Elizabeth I.
