Today, Provident Metals is offering the 2019 Canadian Maple Leaf Berlin Wall Edition Four Seasons Silver Coin Set in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition.
Highlights:
The coins in this listing ship in a special presentation box with graffiti on it. Additionally, the coins come in capsules for protection. The coins come with a Certificate of Authenticity!
Obverse
On the obverse side of each coin is a colorized map of Berlin as it looked throughout the Cold War. A wall separates different parts of the city much like the country of Germany was divided between the Allies and Soviets. The wall cut off West Berlin from the rest of East Germany. In 1989, the Berlin Wall was torn down to allow for the reunification of the nation of Germany and the city of Berlin.
Reverse
The reverse face of each of these coins shows off the distinctive Sugar Maple Leaf design by Walter Otts. As part of this collection, the designs feature different colors to symbolize each of the four seasons. The bright green leaf is meant to symbolize spring, while the dark green leaf represents summer. The red leaf is for autumn, while brown represents winter.
History
These coins were minted at the Royal Canadian Mint. While the mint began as part of Great Britains push to create coinage for its commonwealths, now the mint creates coinage for Canada in its two locations in Ottawa in Winnipeg.
