The Australian Emu series is one of the newest native species coins available from the Perth Mint. Introduced in 2018, the coin follows the pattern established by other major bullion coin programs at the mint. There is a new design used on the reverse field of these coins each year. Provident Metals currently offers the 2019 Australian Emu 1 oz Silver Coins for purchase online.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with protective capsules, sealed rolls of 20 coins, or boxes of 100 coins!
  • 2nd design released in the Australian Emu 1 oz silver coins!
  • Limited mintage of just 30,000 silver coins!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .9999 pure silver in BU condition.
  • Issued a face value of $1 (AUD) by Australia.
  • The obverse includes the image of Queen Elizabeth II.
  • On the reverse field are two emus standing along a dry river bed.

When you purchase a 2019 Australian Emu 1 oz Silver Coin online at Provident Metals, you will receive each specimen in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are housed individually inside of protective plastic capsules or inside of sealed rolls. Multiples of 20 coins ship inside of individually sealed rolls, while multiples of 100 ship in a box containing a total of five rolls of 20 coins.

Obverse

The obverse field of the 2019 Australian Emu 1 oz Silver Coin includes the vision of Queen Elizabeth II. This is the sixth-generation effigy on Australian coins and was created in 2015 by Jody Clark for the Royal Mint of England. In the Australian version, Her Majesty is depicted in right-profile relief with her neckline and shoulders visible on an Australian coin for the first time since 1966.

Reverse

On the reverse side of 2019 Australian Emu 1 oz Silver Coins, you will find the depiction of two emus standing near a dry river bed in the Australian Outback. The emu is one of the largest birds in the world behind the ostrich and is the largest bird of its kind on the Australian continent, a region of the world in which it is native.

History

The Australian Emu Silver Coins debuted in 2018 following 21st-century introductions of the Australian Koala, Australian Wedge Tail Eagle, and the Australian Kangaroo coins released in 2007, 2014, and 2016 respectively.

Ordering

2019 Australian Emu 1 oz Silver Coins are produced by the Perth Mint, the oldest operating mint in Australia, with a P mint mark on the reverse field.
