{{/presale}}The 2018 Tuvalu Thor Marvel Series 1 oz Silver Coin is the 2nd design released in the Tuvalu Marvel Series. The coin features Thor in full warrior dress, holding his hammer Mjolnir. Made from .9999 pure silver, this coin is highly valued by collectors of both silver and Marvel memorabilia. The coins are available in brilliant uncirculated condition and are secured in blister pack card that features full-color artwork on one of the sides, with the coin authentication information on the other side. Released with a limited mintage of just 1,000, these coins issued by the nation of Tuvalu, the coins are a great addition to any collection.
Highlights:
The island nation of Tuvalu debuted the Marvel Series of silver coins with the 2017 Spiderman design. The release of this coin was timed with the release of the movie that heralded Spidermans returning to the big screen, with the movie Spiderman: Homecoming. Each of the designs released in the series coincides with the release of a Marvel movie.
The secure blister pack cards feature a vibrantly colored image of Thor on the obverse of the card. The reverse side of the blister pack card features the date, metal content, purity, weight and original mintage release of the coin.
Obverse
The obverse design of the 2018 Tuvalu Thor Marvel Series 1 oz Silver Coin features the 1998 portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This image is the fourth-generation portrait of Her Majesty and has been featured on coins in Britain and across the commonwealth for more than two decades. The artwork was created by famed sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998.
Reverse
The reverse design of the 2018 Tuvalu Thor Marvel Series 1 oz Silver Coin features the Norse god Thor. Thor is shown wearing his traditional dress, which includes a lightning bolt helmet and cloak. Thor is also featuring showing his hammer, Mjolnir. Mjolnir is said to be the most powerful weapon in existence and can only be wielded by those who are worthy of lifting and using it.
The coins released in the Marvel Series for the island nation of Tuvalu were produced by the Perth Mint. The Perth Mint is one of the oldest operating mints in Australia. Established in 1899, the Perth Mint is operated as a state-run mint.
