{{/presale}}Popular amongst collectors and investors both, the Native American Silver Dollar Series offers the chance to own beautifully designed pieces that represent the first nation tribes of North America. The Native American Mint set out to release a series of 50 coins, representing a state, a tribe that called that state home and an animal that held significance for the tribe and their overall survival. The 2018 Proof Kansas Pawnee Pronghorn 1 oz Silver Coin pays tribute to the Pawnee tribe, and also to the Pronghorn that is native to Kansas. Each of the coins contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver, making it a great choice for the collector to consider.
Highlights:
The 2018 Proof Kansas Pawnee Pronghorn 1 oz Silver Coin follows the same format as the other coins in the series. It focuses on the presentation of a member of the tribe being heralded, and also features an animal species that has historical and cultural significance to the tribe.
Each of the 2018 Proof Kansas Pawnee Pronghorn 1 oz Silver Coin pieces has a $1 face value, backed by the tribe itself. It is important to note that these coins are not considered to be legal tender in the United States. Only the United States Mint is authorized to release legal tender in the United States.
Obverse
The obverse design of the 2018 Proof Kansas Pawnee Pronghorn 1 oz Silver Coin features the portrait of a member of the Pawnee Nation. The Pawnee people were known as one of the most powerful tribes in the areas that they were found in, which includes Nebraska and Kansas. Their numbers once exceeded 10,000 people, which made them a force to be reckoned with.
Reverse
The reverse design of the 2018 Proof Kansas Pawnee Pronghorn 1 oz Silver Coin features the pronghorn settled down in a thicket of grass. Quite often the pronghorn is referred to as an antelope, but they are actually much more closely related to the okapi and the giraffe than to the various species of antelope. Also featured on the reverse of the coin are the words Kansas, Pronghorn, Jamul Sovereign Mint and America.
The Native American Mint released the series in 2015, with a variety of designs and many wonderful tribes getting recognition.
When you order your 2018 Proof Kansas Pawnee Pronghorn 1 oz Silver Coin, it arrives in a sealed protective plastic capsule that will keep it looking brand new for countless years to come.
