American Eagle 1/2 oz Gold coins wouldnt surpass 100,000 again until 1998 when 169,029 coins were produced. The second-highest all-time mintage figure for the 1/2 oz coins came in 1999 when 263,013 were struck. The third time the coins exceeded 100,000 was in 2009 during the Great Recession when 110,000 coins were struck and sold.
