Obverse

In his right hand, King Tut clutches what is known as a Was scepter. In Ancient Egypt, the scepter was used as a symbol of magical power and divine right. Reverse

The shield boasts alternating wavy lines that, in real life, are captured as alternating gold and blue lines. The lines are representative of the sun rising over the waters of Lake Chad and symbolize new beginnings. The shield is supported by a lion on the right and a goat on the left. Inscriptions on this face of the coin include Republique du Tchad, 1 Troy oz, 3000 Francs CFA, .9999 Fine Gold. The date mark of 2017 is also found on this face of the coin.
History
King Tuts tomb was discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter during an expedition in Egypt. Tuts tomb was found entirely intact with his gold-emblazoned sarcophagus. King Tuts tomb discovery was a major moment in world history and his body has been extensively studied over the course of nearly a century.
