{{/presale}}The New Zealand Mints Mickey Through the Ages Series celebrates the many depictions of Mickey Mouse that have featured in animated films and television series over nearly a century of time. One of the more memorable depictions is that of Mickey as a wizard in Fantasia. Right now, you can buy 2017 Proof Niue Mickey Mouse Fantasia Series 1 oz Gold Coins from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
When you purchase the 2017 Proof Niue Mickey Mouse Fantasia Series 1 oz Gold Coins, you receive your products inside of an individual protective plastic capsule. The coins and capsule are housed together inside of a wooden display box that has a base that can be propped up so your coin can be easily displayed. The coins each come with their own Certificate of Authenticity from the New Zealand Mint and everything ships together in a themed shipper.
Obverse
Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the obverse of the 2017 Proof Niue Mickey Mouse Fantasia 1 oz Gold Coin. This is the fifth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on Australian and Commonwealth coins and was designed in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley. This effigy captures the Queen in right-profile relief with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara on her head. This is known to be the Queens favorite tiara and is featured on her head in countless different denominations of currency throughout Britain and the Commonwealth.
Reverse
Mickey Mouse is depicted on the reverse of 2017 Proof Niue Mickey Mouse Fantasia 1 oz Gold Coins. Fantasia was released by Walt Disney Productions in 1940 and was the third animated feature film released by Disney. The film, though hampered originally in its release as a result of World War II, is the 23rd highest-grossing film in American history when adjusted for inflation.
History
The Mickey Through the Ages Series from the New Zealand Mint features some of the most iconic images of Mickey from Walt Disney. Many of the designs come from original issues in the late 1920s and early 1930s, such as Gallopin Gaucho, Plane Crazy, and The Band Concert. Fantasia, from 1940, is actually one of the newer images in this series.
Ordering
Mickey Through the Ages coins are available in three gold weights and a single silver weight as well. The New Zealand Mint is not a sovereign mint, but rather, a private mint operating in Auckland.
