{{/presale}}Silver producers are always looking for a new way to grab the attention of collectors and investors. One of the most popular ways to do this is to add unique features, like adding a mother of pearl inlay. The New Zealand Mint is a leader in innovative coins. Right now, you can purchase the 2017 Proof Cook Islands Mother of Pearl Lunar Rooster 5 oz Silver Coin from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The Mother of Pearl Lunar Series began in 2012 with the Year of the Dragon coin. Since the initial coin launched, there have been five other releases leading up to the Year of the Rooster design.
These coins ship in a beauty box to make displaying the coins easy. To match the coin, the shipping box is a pinkish-red. A Certificate of Authenticity ships with each coin.
Obverse
Queen Elizabeth II is featured proudly on the obverse of these coins. This depiction of Her Majesty was created by Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998. It is the fourth-generation image of the Queen used on British and commonwealth coinage. She has been on all of this coinage since 1952.
Reverse
On the reverse side of each coin, you will see the mother of pearl piece with a stunning rooster image. The roost is standing on only one foot, and its full plumage is on display. Engravings on this side of the coin include the face value of the coin and Year of the Rooster.
History
The New Zealand Mint is a private mint located in Auckland, New Zealand. Despite the fact that the name makes it sound like the New Zealand Mint is a sovereign minting facility, it isnt associated with the government at all. All New Zealand dollars are actually produced overseas at the Royal Mint and the Royal Canadian Mint.
