{{/presale}}With a mighty roar, the Lion of England appears to be holding close and protecting Englands coat of arms. This collection of coins, known as the Queens Beast Collection were produced by the Royal Mint to commemorate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II being the longest-reigning monarch in the history of the nation. It was in 2015 that Queen Elizabeth II surpassed her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria, as being the longest-reigning monarch in British history. The Queens Beast Series of coins celebrate this, with 10 designs that reimagine the 10 statues of mythical beasts that were presented to Her Majesty during her coronation in 1953. This coin, featuring the roaring lion is .999 pure silver.
Coin Highlights:
Jody Clark, engraver for the Royal Mint, designed each of the 10 creatures in the Queens Beast Collection. Not only did Clark design the mythical beasts that were captured as statues and presented to Her Majesty at the coronation, but he is responsible for having developed the 2015 fifth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II that is featured on British coins.
This series was debuted in 2016, in bullion form, with the first release being the Lion of England design. The coins were released in a 1 oz gold, oz gold, and 2 oz silver coin.
