{{/presale}}There are few places in America more iconic than Ellis Island. From here, you get an unobstructed view of the glory of the Statue of Liberty. It was on this island in New York Harbor that millions of immigrants first caught a glimpse of Liberty and their new homeland in the United States of America. The site is the representative location of New Jersey in the ATB Series from the United States Mint. Today, you have the opportunity to get the 2017-P Burnished ATB Ellis Island Statue of Liberty National Monument 5 oz Silver Coin online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
All Burnished ATB Silver coins go through a special treatment process before the blanks are struck with the designs. The plain 5 oz silver blanks are first rolled in a drum with a polishing medium to create the burnished, or matte, finish of the blank. Each one is handled by gloved hands from this point forward through the coining process up till packaging. This ensures the finish remains untarnished by human hands.
Obverse
On the obverse of 2017-P Burnished ATB Ellis Island Statue of Liberty National Monument 5 oz Silver Coins is a left-profile bust of President George Washington. This portrait has featured on the US quarter since 1932 and was created that year by John Flanagan. Washingtons bust was placed on the quarter that year to honor the 200th anniversary of his birth.
Reverse
The reverse face of the 2017-P Burnished ATB Ellis Island Statue of Liberty National Monument Silver Coin depicts an immigrant family arriving via boat at Ellis Island. The young child has a small American flag in hand as the family waits for a chance to register as new American citizens.

Between 1892 and 1954, an estimated 12 million immigrants to the United States passed through the inspection station on Ellis Island upon entering the US.
