Grizzlies are not a distinct species of bear, but rather a large population in a subspecies of brown bears that inhabit various ranges in North America. Provident Metals currently offers the 2017 Canadian Grizzly Bear 1.5 oz Silver Coin for purchase online.

Obverse
Queen Elizabeth II showcased on the obverse of the 2017 Canadian Grizzly Bear 1.5 oz Silver Coins. Her Majesty is shown in a regal portrait that depicts the Queen in right-profile relief with no crown on her head. This is the first design of the monarch on Canadian coinage without a crown since the reign of King George VI and it is the second design from a Canadian artist on national coinage. Inscriptions on this side include Elizabeth II, D.G. Regina, and 8 Dollars.
Reverse
A massive grizzly bear is depicted on the reverse of the 2017 Canadian Grizzly Bear 1.5 oz Silver Coin. The towering grizzly bear lets out its massive roar from the edge of a rock cliff in a design from Pierre LeDuc. Inscriptions include Canada 2017, Fine Silver 1 1/2 oz Argent Pur, and 9999.
History
The background field of both sides of the coin includes radial lines, with the entire obverse background bears radial lines and the outer edge of the design field on the reverse. There is also a micro laser-engraved maple leaf privy mark on the reverse field that includes the date mark within the design field.
