These 2017 British Britannia 1 oz Gold Coins have both new security features in the design of the coins obverse and reverse fields, as well as a commemorative privy mark on the reverse field. Within the design rocker on the reverse field in the lower left, just to the left of the bottom end of Britannias trident, you will notice a trident head privy. This privy has the digits 30 in between the spear tips of the trident head. The reverse has a new background security feature of radiating sun rays, while the obverse debuts the new guilloche background element.
Obverse
Queen Elizabeth II is featured on the obverse of 2017 30th Anniversary British Britannia 1 oz Gold coins in just the second use of the new fifth-generation effigy from Jody Clark. Designed in 2015, this image debuted on Royal Mint coins in 2016 and shows the Queen at the age of 89 wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. Inscriptions include 100 Pounds, Elizabeth II, D.G. Reg F.D.
Reverse
Britannia cuts a powerful figure on the reverse design of 2017 30th Anniversary British Britannia Gold Coins. Her figure stands on the coast of Britain with a trident in her right hand to exercise control over the seas and the shield with Union Jack in her left hand to defend the nation against invaders. Inscriptions here read Britannia, 2017, 1 oz 999.9 Fine Gold. You will also notice the name Nathan at the bottom of the design rocker. This is in honor of Philip Nathan, the designer of the Britannia image.

British Britannia 1 oz Gold Coins debuted in 1987 at the Royal Mint of England. The series offers a number of different weights, but it is the 1 oz gold coin that remains the most popular with investors.
